Android User will Soon See News Stories in Their Twitter Timeline

There is no doubt in saying that Twitter is an ever-growing social media platform across the globe. It keeps evolving every day. The users love it and they see themselves as part of a privileged community that can express themselves with a play of few words. The platform is full of so many opportunities to be informed, to stay in touch with things we care about. Now, something amazing has been coming for the android users using Twitter app. Recently, Twitter has announced that Android user will soon see news stories in their Twitter timeline.

Twitter has in many ways been a godsend to the media. Popular micro-blogging site Twitter is testing a new feature on Android that puts news stories at the top of the timeline to help users keep up with what is happening around the world. It is well-known that getting aware of the news updates have become crucial for everyone. This effort by Twitter will be a great move for android mobile app users who don’t want to miss a single update across the globe.

Wally Gurzynski, Product Manager of Twitter has confirmed "With this update, we are making it easier for people to see the news and stories their followers have been discussing while they've been away at the top of their timeline”. Once you open your Twitter app, the feature comes with a prompt, which says "Catch up on what's happened while you were away".

This is not the first time Twitter has decided to do this. In 2018, Twitter has tried to stand out with users and advertisers by emphasizing live events and direct news, in contrast with social networks such as Facebook Inc. that have made news a lesser priority than posts about family or friends. Earlier in 2015 and 2016 Twitter released "While you were away" and "Never miss an important tweet" features but they were not to purposely highlight news stories. This is why the demand for Android and iOS app developers who can build an amazing newspaper app has grown.

Moreover, it has been reported that this catching-up with the news test feature is in line with the other tests that Twitter is running and aimed at following specific conversations and newsworthy events easier.
